Summer temps Tuesday will give way to winter-like weather …

The weather roller coaster continues this week as the Kansas City area will experience summer-like and then winter-like temperatures.

Tuesday will be sunny with highs in the lower 80s. A southerly wind will blow around 18 mph with gusts as high as 30, according to the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill, Mo.

The winds will calm down Tuesday night, reaching 8 to 15 mph, gusting to 21 mph.

A strong cold front will end the warm weather Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Although highs are expected to reach into the upper 70s, thunderstorms will be possible across the Kansas City region Wednesday afternoon and night.

The chance of showers and thunderstorms are expected in Kansas City mainly after 1 p.m. Wednesday.

More showers and thunderstorms are possible after 1 a.m. Thursday, as lows drop to the upper 30s, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain may mix with light snow Thursday morning and again at night.

Highs are expected to reach the lower 40s during the day and then drop to the mid-30s at night.
